The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Network (YPN) provides opportunities for professional growth and social interaction to the regions emerging leaders. The mission of YPN is to Connect, Develop and Empower Young Professionals through networking, educational and volunteer opportunities.

Executive Committee 2019-2020

The Executive Committee is made up of 11 volunteers from the YPN Membership. Each Committee member serves a three year term, with the Chair position serving for only a one year term. Open positions on the Executive Committee are filled by nomination based on applications received from the general membership. The purpose of the Executive Committee is to provide oversight of vision, goals and objectives of the YPN as general direction for the future.

Thank you for your interest in being a member of the YPN Executive Committee. Please complete the questions below by February 22, 2019. If you have questions contact Erin Slifka, erin@joplincc.com.

If selected to join the Executive Committee do you, and your employer, understand that thought it is a volunteer position, as a member of the leadership team you will be expected to attend regular monthly meetings and be involved with special projects and events throughout the year? (required)

This questionnaire will be reviewed by the nominating committee and nominations will be made to the Executive Committee at the next available E.C. Meeting. Questionnaires will be kept on file in the event that a current committee member must resign and a remaining term must be filled. Terms are 3 years long unless applicant is assigned to fill the remainder of a vacant term. Executive Committee members are expected to:
Attend 11 monthly Executive Committee meetings
Attend 4 quarterly membership meetings
Chair and lead 11 monthly work group meetings
Attend 1 full-day planning retreat
Assist Chamber staff in contacting and connecting with membership
Attend the YPN Annual Celebration
