Mission: To encourage the growth and development of a creative community that integrates business, education and the arts.
The Cultural Affairs committee was formed under the auspices of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, a 501 (C) 3 designated organization. The purpose of the JACC Foundation is to promote charitable endeavors that fall within the mission of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, with special emphasis on supporting charitable, cultural, and educational programs and projects through which the community’s quality of life will be enhanced.
The committee’s signature project is Art in Public Places.

“Anthony Benton Gude Mural," (Joplin City Hall), grandson of Thomas Hart Benton, companion piece to Benton Mural of Joplin, 2010.
David Lowenstein (15th & Main streets, Dixie Printing), community mural “In the Time of Silver Rain/The Butterfly Effect," 2011.
“Celebrating the Performing Arts of Joplin," artist Garin Baker, (8th & Main streets, Corner Greer Associates), dedicated May 2014.
Joplin was named Creative Community of the Year in 2012 by The Missouri Arts Council.
