Joseph Newman Business and Technology Innovation Center is
an economic development tool designed to accelerate the growth and
success of entrepreneurial companies through an array of business
support resources and services. The centers main goal is to produce
successful firms that will leave the program financially viable
and freestanding.

of success during the most difficult times in the start-up of a
new business.

Honoring
Joplin's shell building pioneer Joseph
Newman, the brick, two-story, early 20th century
building is located on the property west of the Joplin Area
Chamber of Commerce at 320 E 4th Street. The 11,000 square
foot structure showcases a retro technology culture atmosphere
supporting the needs of entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs.
